Winter Sports Area "Großer Arber"

Look forward to an unforgettable skiing holiday in the Bavarian Forest.

The highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest is the Großer Arber with 1, 456 meters of altitude. It is also our local mountain and it can be reached by car within a short time (approx. 10 minutes). The Großer Arber is ideal for skiing and snowboarding on perfectly groomed slopes with a total length of 15 km during the cold season. Enjoy varied runs, from easy to demanding - every winter sports enthusiast gets ones money worth! With modern lifts you can easily reach the wonderful descents. There is also a ski and snowboard rental on site. Spend this winter holiday at Arber Lofts: on the slopes during the day and relaxing in the sauna or infrared cabin in the evening!

Cross-Country Ski Trail

Cross-country skiing is one of the most varied winter sports. Would you like to explore nature on cross-country skis? There are around 200 km of cross-country ski trails in Bayerisch Eisenstein and the surrounding area. A cross-country ski run leads directly from the house through the area. Enjoy the breathtaking view of diverse snow landscapes, varied trails and the rhythmic movement in the snow.

For the ultimate in cross-country skiing fun, we recommend:

Bretterschachten (1100 - 1300 m): Most reliable snow trail, accessible from mid / late November to early / mid April
Brennes / Spitzberg / Gerlhütte (900 - 1100 m): In the middle of the Bavarian Forest
Hohenzollern trail / Zwieseler Waldhaus / Rabenstein (700 - 900 m): partly with floodlights

Winter Hiking

During the winter months, there are no limits to hiking fun in the snow-assured Bayerisch Eisenstein. The well-known and popular „Schwellhäusl“ can be easily reached via a cleared forest path in winter. A highlight for us is hiking with a view - on the nearby Großer Arber, the 2 km long, well-prepared hiking trail around the summit plateau invites you to an extraordinary tour. Let yourself be impressed! In the area you can choose from around 50 km of well-tended winter hiking trails.

Take a leisurely stroll through the glittering winter landscape, breathe the clear and pure air and be enchanted by the surroundings.
